Image is important because you must make sure you feel comfy with yourself. You know what it's like in secondary school...people can bully you if you look different to them, like different music or are a different nationality etc, and they don't take the time to get to know you as a person they only judge by how they see you.
But you shouldn't change you image for no one because it is what makes you You. People who make fun of you because of you likes, appearance, etc then they aren't your real friends so ditch them and find friends who appreciate you for being yourself. Don't try and act like a different person to impress people because at the end of the day it doesn't work and makes you look like a fool...believe me i've been there

So be happy woth who you and don't change yourself because other people want you to.
